My Journey of Purpose: From Cancer Warrior to Minister
As a dedicated minister with a passion for serving widows and cancer survivors, I’ve found my calling in powerful prayer and intercession. Being a cancer warrior myself has shaped my deepest conviction—that life’s challenges, difficulties, obstacles, trials, and tribulations can all be transformed into pathways toward greater purpose.
When I’m not ministering to others, I find joy and renewal in travel, particularly cruises that allow me to witness the beauty of God’s creation across different shores. On one memorable Caribbean cruise, I organized an impromptu prayer circle on the upper deck at sunrise, bringing together fellow travelers from diverse backgrounds. What began as my personal devotion time became a moment of unexpected spiritual connection as we watched the golden light spread across the horizon together.
Another transformative experience came during a cruise along the Alaskan coastline. Those majestic glaciers—seemingly immovable yet constantly being shaped through persistent forces—inspired me to write a series of devotionals comparing them to life’s journey. I often reflect on how we, too, are gradually shaped by the persistent touch of God’s hand, even when we feel frozen in our circumstances.
My book, “When the Widow Prays,” available on Amazon, reflects my commitment to supporting those who have lost spouses. I’m humbled that this work has earned multiple recognitions, including the Women of the Year Award and Superintendent of the Year Award. Being honored as an “I Choose Joy” recipient and speaker further affirmed that this path of service is exactly where I’m meant to be.
As the founder of Heels, Flats and Pearls, I continue to extend my ministry while also serving as both a minister and singer. Through every aspect of my work, I live by Philippians 4:13, which reminds me daily that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
My purpose-driven approach to life and ministry continues to inspire those facing life’s most difficult circumstances. I carry this message with me everywhere—whether ministering at home or sharing my spirit of joy on travels around the world—that even in darkness, there can be meaning and purpose.
I believe that your struggles are not the end of your story but perhaps the beginning of your greatest testimony. Whatever you’re facing today, remember that God isn’t finished with you yet.
